Bringing people together to build

homes, communities and hope.

Every Number Has a Story

Umpqua Valley Habitat for Humanity was incorporated on May 9, 1996 by a group of local volunteers who saw what other Habitat affiliates were able to accomplish for families in need across the country and came together to put this affordable housing model to work in our communities here in Douglas County, Oregon.

Our Mission

At Habitat, our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. It takes all of us together to make that happen – that’s why your support really matters. Working side by side, we can construct and repair homes that will provide years of security and stability for families while strengthening our community.

Together, through shelter, we empower.

Homeownership with Umpqua Valley Habitat

Our Homeowner selection process has been completed for our first six homes being built at our Twin Oaks Community in Riddle. Applications will reopen once our initial homes have been completed and we've begun the planning process for future homes.

If you would like to stay up to date on future opportunities for homeownership, please request to be added to our notification list by sending your name, phone number and email address to homeownerservices@umpquavalleyhabitat.org.

Interested in helping build homes in our community? Sign up to volunteer and help make homeownership a reality for families in need. Unable to volunteer but still want to help? Consider making a donation to help fund future homes for Douglas County.

"I want to thank all the staff and volunteers at Habitat for Humanity for making my home so much better. I'm grateful for all the hard work, speediness and concern you took coming to my aid. I feel so much safer having porches that are new, sturdy and safe."

Billie C.

"Habitat's help is a huge blessing - it means a new start. I was homeless for a while, sleeping in the streets of LA and I had cancer and heart disease.  Habitat worked with my health insurance company and has done more than I ever expected."
